Ashley M. Fraise
Vice Principal 

Ashley M. Fraise was born in New Orleans, LA and moved to Lorain, OH when she was in grade school. She attended Eastern Michigan University where she received a Bachelor’s of Science in Education with a concentration in Mathematics and Science, as well as a minor in Psychology and also obtained a Master’s of Arts in Educational Leadership with a concentration in K-12 Administration from Eastern Michigan. Ms. Fraise joined Cincinnati Public Schools in 2021 as a high school assistant principal.

General PTSO meetings are first tuesday of every month except June at 6:30pm 
Executive Board meets at 5:30 prior

May 2015 - Amid Administrative changes parents stepped up to help extend our school communication by forming a non profit PTSO aimed at better informing our community.

July 2015 - Elections are held- Executive Board is voted in. Steps are taken to legitimize the non profit. 
November 2015 - Strong bylaws voted in place and an IRS 501c3 status granted.
July 2016 - WEareSCPA PTSO holds first elections, grows to over 975 likes on FB, has successful social community building and fundraising under its belt- is working well with Administration, Alumni and our Community of Caregivers. 

March 2017- PTSO is growing and giving back!  5k to Faculty apprecition this month, and our events are becoming tradition!

Teresa Summe-Haas

External Relations Officer
brings years of experience in business development. Most recently, she served as executive director of Cincinnati’s Memorial Hall where she significantly increased operational income and charitable contributions. Prior to that, Summe-Haas served as Director of the Otto M. Budig Academy at the Cincinnati Ballet’s Northern Kentucky University campus. Mrs. Summe-Haas holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Education from Xavier University.

WEareSCPA provides support for our school and a voice for our community as a Parent Teacher Student Organization.  We work to develop a deeper connection between school and home for our families by providing timely communications and social engagements to welcome and encourage parental involvement while improving the overall educational environment of SCPA for students, teachers, and families through volunteer and financial support.

Michael Owens

Principal, is a 1988 graduate of SCPA with more than 20 years of experience in urban education. The founding principal of the Columbus City Preparatory School for Boys, Mr. Owens brings extensive experience in school administration within Columbus City Schools. Mr. Owens holds a Bachelor of Arts in Early and Middle Childhood Education and a Master of Education Administration from The Ohio State University.

John F. Copenhaver
Vice-Principal

Is a lifelong Cincinnatian, a passionate artist, and a respected member of the Cincinnati Public Schools teaching community, where he previously served as an art teacher and an Assistant Principal. He has been a valuable member of the SCPA leadership team since 2011. Mr. Copenhaver holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Cincinnati, DAAP program.

WEareSCPA provides support for our school and a voice for our community as a Parent Teacher Student Organization for Cincinnati's School for Creative & Performing Arts.  

The SCPA Leadership Team is enhanced by 146 additional highly-accredited faculty and staff who bring The SCPA mission to life in the classroom.

Maggie Perrino

Artistic Director, is an accomplished artist and educator Maggie Perirno joins our leadership team from The Carnegie where she has been the Theatre Director since 2015. With experience in community arts programs, dance, theatre, administration, and education, Maggie brings a perfect skill set to her new role.  A native Cincinnatian, Maggie obtained an undergraduate degree from Miami University in theatre, education, and community arts and a Master’s in Teaching from Thomas More University.
